A DCAMM seminar will be presented by
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jana Schloesser,
Fachhochschule Kiel, University of Applied Sciences
Kiel, Germany
Abstract:
Functionally graded materials have multiple applications especially under high thermomechanical loading. Furthermore, it is desirable to combine the advantages of gradient materials and additive manufacturing.
In this talk opportunities and challenges of functionally graded materials by additive manufacturing will be highlighted from a materials’ perspective. A brief introduction of additive manufacturing by Laser metal deposition will be given and possibilities at University of Applied Science Kiel (UAS Kiel) will be presented. Results from current research projects concerning parameter development for gradient materials will be shown and an outlook on future activities will be given.
Cake, coffee and tea will be served 15 minutes before the seminar starts.
All interested persons are invited
