Abstract:
Traditionally, the fatigue analysis of marine structures is based on a discrete representation of the sea states data (wave scatter diagram). However, due to the availability of more refined data, nowadays the number of sea states (load cases) used in fatigue analysis has increased a lot leading to very high computational costs to perform this kind of analysis. Then, more elaborated approaches are required in order to reduce the computational burden related to the fatigue analysis. Here we discuss three different approaches in connection with fatigue analysis of metallic risers: Perturbation Method, Asymptotic Approximation Method and Univariate Dimension-Reduction Method.
Danish pastry, coffee and tea will be served 15 minutes before the seminar starts.
All interested persons are invited.
