This year the DCAMM Annual Speaker is professor Gäetan Kerschen from the University of Liège (ULg), Belgium. The seminars will take place Wednesday 27th November at DTU and Thursday 28th November at Aalborg University. Please find details about the Annual Speaker Seminars in the email attachment.
Gäetan Kerschen is head of the `Space Structures and Systems Laboratory’, which is a research unit within the ` Structural Dynamics Research Group’ at ULg, and his main research topics involve numerical and experimental vibration analysis of non-linear structures. Within DCAMM we have related research activities at most of our member departments, and I would hereby like to invite relevant PhD students and supervisors for an informal mini-seminar, where Gäetan Kerschen also will participate. The idea behind this PhD mini-seminar is that DCAMM members with research activities related to those of the Annual Speaker can meet and exchange ideas and concepts in an informal and hopefully inspiring atmosphere. Furthermore, it is of course a brilliant opportunity to meet the Annual Speaker and establish a contact to one of the absolute most active researchers and research groups within applied mechanics and dynamics in Europe.
If you would like to join, send me an email (jhg@mek.dtu.dk) so that we can order the correct amount of coffee, tea, wienerbrød, etc.(doors will open at 8:30)
PhD students should prepare a `short' presentation that introduces the research project, presents solutions/results and maybe even leaves a number or open ends and questions, which can facilitate a discussion among the participants.
